After that, I moved deeper into development and product management in my career, so I didn’t really get the chance to build websites anymore. But I kept seeing Elementor’s announcements every month and all the new things they were introducing. I was a person from the Section/Row era, and then Flexbox came along. After that, there were so many new concepts and workflows that I never had the time to properly learn and play with them. Then came Atomic Builder. Honestly, I started feeling a little worried that I was becoming outdated. I wanted to learn all these new things, but with my other major responsibilities, I simply didn’t have enough time. Then came 2026, the AI era, and MCP changed the whole experience for me. Recently, I built a complete website from a Figma design using Elementor MCP, and the experience was just GREAT. I connected Claude with both Figma MCP and Elementor MCP, and it was able to build the website almost exactly like the Figma design. The best part? Because I already understand Elementor’s core concepts, I knew exactly where things needed to be adjusted, what needed to be changed, and how everything should work. That combination of my existing knowledge + AI + MCP felt incredibly powerful. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel like I was behind anymore. I actually felt like I had my power back. ❤️ This is what I believe the 2026 AI + MCP workflow should look like: instead of spending hours learning every new interface and workflow from scratch, we can combine the knowledge we already have with AI and powerful tools to build things much faster. It is very popular and it has a community which means finding help, tutorials and experienced developers isn't a problem. Based on WP plugin stats, it had 218k downloads just yesterday. There are also some things that make Elementor tough to recommend. Many of the widgets have not been updated in many years in order to offer better design flexibility. One example is providing custom input instead of a select box of some predefined( arbitrary) values. The video widget suffers from similar problems so I had to make my own. There's also no audio widget. There are also multiple known bugs, some which haven't been fixed in more than a year. Design flexibility is good compared to Gutenberg FSE but is more limited in other ways. Making a simple website with a coherent design is much easier with FSE. Especially for WooCommerce sites, where even with Elementor Pro, there will have to be great effort to match how a fresh WordPress install with the default Twenty Twenty Five theme handles WooCommerce. It's great for low-code projects – build visually to match certain design requirements. It offers a lot of design options which can overwhelm inexperienced users and allow them to make mistakes very quickly. Advanced users will find themselves writing plenty of custom code anyway, no matter the tool. I have used Elementor professionally for 5 years. This year I have started using Gutenberg FSE for all new sites and found that it's a better choice for most sites. Since then, can you guess how many times have I " Cleared Files & Data" or found a site cached without styles at random? Elementor released an update to patch ANOTHER security issue and is failing everyone at the moment. In the latest update to 'patch' the security issue, they failed to properly test this version and it has caused websites crashing left and right. Stay away from versions 4.3.X for base and pro versions! 4.2.4 and 4.2.3 (pro) are stable.
