We use it for playing Podcasts and reading the text aloud on pages as a service for people with eyesight issues. They player is easy to decorate and colour to fit the theme, and to add a picture for illustration. And like that there is a progress bar for the audio, so you can add timestamps for chapters in text below the player.

I like this plugin. Easy to setup + looking good. For us important: we can use audio files either from the wordpress or stored in a dropbox account (copy the link to the file and replace the last url parameter &dl=0 with &raw=1).
