In addition many options of the WPeMatico standard campaigns are available to parse and filter the content displayed in the feeds. #### Features The most important characteristics that makes this add-on the first choice comparing to others are the next ones: > * Allows to display RSS feed results dynamically, without create new post types > on your WordPress site. > * Set a maximum limit on how many feed items will be shown in the selected post > type, regardless of the method you have chosen. > * Choose a specific post or post-type previously created to display the feed > content using the WordPress function get_the_content. > * Page template for pages only, select a previously created page to display the > feed content, you can also choose the default page template from the plugin > or theme’s page templates. > * Generate a [shortcode] using the campaign slug and insert it anywhere on your > website (posts, pages, cpt, widgets, and more) to display the feed content. > * Choose a ready-made display layout — List, Grid, or Excerpt & Thumbnail — from > a visual picker in the campaign editor. > * Customize the HTML structure where the feed items will be displayed, adjust > the layout, styles and visual components to perfectly fit your site. #### Requirements As WPeMatico Add-on requires WPeMatico base plugin installed and activated. Click Plugins 2. Click Add New 3. Search for `wpematico_rss_feed_reader` 4. Click Install 5. Click Install Now 6. Click Activate Plugin 7. Now you use the addon features in WPeMatico’s campaigns #### Manually 1. Upload `wpematico_rss_feed_reader` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory 2. Rendered output is cached for performance. * Improved: a campaign with a layout selected but no custom template now renders that layout’s preset (Grid / Excerpt & Thumbnail) instead of the plain list template— so campaigns imported from other plugins keep the right arrangement. * Improved: the Posts column of the campaigns list now shows how many feed items the campaign has stored. Reader campaigns publish no posts, so that column read 0 however many items had been fetched. Needs WPeMatico 2.9. * Improved: with the « get_the_content() » and « RSS Page Template » display modes the feed is now added below the content of the chosen post or page, which keeps everything that page already said. * Improved: only the post or page a campaign targets is touched now. The rest of the site is left exactly as the theme and the other plugins render it, embeds included. * Improved: reader campaigns no longer copy the source’s images, audio or video into your site. They display a feed, so nothing is downloaded to your Media Library or your uploads folder whatever the global media settings say. * Improved: the Schedule Cron box is available on reader campaigns, so the feed refresh interval can be set from the campaign editor like any other campaign. * Improved: lowering « Max items to show » now shrinks the stored feed right away instead of waiting for the campaign to fill up again. * Improved: feed items whose title carries quotation marks, ampersands or apostrophes render correctly in every layout. * Improved: an item that comes with no image no longer leaves an empty thumbnail placeholder in the Grid and Excerpt & Thumbnail layouts. * Improved: the plugin row on the Plugins screen links to your RSS Feed Reader campaigns, and the review link goes to this plugin’s own page. * Improved: clearing a campaign’s stored feed items is limited to users who can edit that campaign. * Improved: a campaign kept on the Excerpt & Thumbnail arrangement with an item template that has no image now reads as a clean stacked list instead of squeezing the title into a narrow column. * Improved: the campaign editor no longer offers the Categories, Tags and Post Format boxes on a reader campaign, which publishes no posts.
