Above Black gives you a clean, polished login page without touching a single line of code.
All settings are managed from Settings Above Black in the WordPress admin.
Features

theme and a deep dark theme with a single click. - Custom accent color — choose any color via a visual color picker; it is applied to the login
button background. Hover and focus states shift brightness only, so your chosen color always
stays consistent. - Custom logo — select any image from the WordPress Media Library and it will appear above the
login form, replacing the default WordPress logo. - Refined positioning — the login box sits approximately 20 % higher than vertical center for a
more premium, above-the-fold feel. - Cleaner UI — removes the question-mark tooltip near the Remember Me checkbox, hides the
Privacy Policy link, and sets the password-toggle eye icon to a neutral grey by default. - No backend impact — all customizations are scoped exclusively to
wp-login.php. Your admin
dashboard remains completely untouched. - No coding required — zero PHP, CSS, or JavaScript knowledge needed.
Installation
From the WordPress plugin directory (recommended)
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins Add New.
- Search for Above Black.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
- Go to Settings Above Black to configure your preferences.
Manual installation
- Download the plugin ZIP.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins Add New Upload Plugin.
- Choose the ZIP file and click Install Now, then Activate.
- Go to Settings Above Black to configure your preferences.

Does this affect the admin dashboard?

No. Above Black applies styles exclusively to the WordPress login page (
wp-login.php).
Your admin dashboard appearance is not changed in any way. -
Can I use any color for the accent?

Yes — a full visual color picker is available on the settings page. Any valid hex color is
accepted. The selected color is applied to the login button; hover and focus states adjust
brightness only so the base color is always visible. -
Where is the logo image stored?

The logo is selected from your existing WordPress Media Library. Above Black only stores the
attachment ID — no file is copied or uploaded by the plugin itself. To remove the logo, click
Remove Logo on the settings page and save. -
Will dark mode affect the WordPress admin?

No. Dark mode is applied only to the login page, not the admin backend.

Is the plugin compatible with multisite?

Above Black has been tested on standard WordPress installations. Multisite compatibility has
not been formally tested in this version.
