Description
JW Gallery replaces WooCommerce’s default product gallery on variable products with a per-attribute image gallery system. Assign a set of images to each variation term (e.g. each colour), and the gallery automatically switches when the customer selects a variation.
Features
- Per-attribute image gallery — assign different images to each term of a variation attribute (e.g. Red, Blue, Green)
- PhotoSwipe 5 lightbox — full-screen image viewer with keyboard navigation
- Vertical thumbnail strip in the lightbox for quick navigation between images
- Image captions pulled from the WordPress media library
- Admin tab on the product edit page for managing gallery images per term
- Drag-and-drop image reordering in the admin
- Settings page (WooCommerce > Gallery Settings) to control:
- Thumbnail strip layout (columns, gap, active outline colour)
- Whether default product images are appended to attribute galleries
- Lightbox theme (light, dark, dim) and background opacity
- Max lightbox image size with a one-click thumbnail regeneration tool
- Automatically updates gallery data if a WooCommerce attribute slug is renamed
- Cleans up gallery data when a variation term is removed or deleted
Installation
- Upload the
jwgalleryfolder to/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress
- Go to WooCommerce > Gallery Settings to configure the plugin
- On any variable product, open the Attribute Galleries tab to assign images to each variation term
