Description
This plugin adds:
-
A « Transparency mentions » box on the post edit screen, with 7 checkboxes:
- Press copy
- Press key
- Sponsorship
- Paid partnership
- AI use
- Reprint
- Affiliate links
Several mentions can be checked at the same time on the same post.
-
Automatic display, as colored badges, just above the post content, for each checked mention.
-
A settings page (Settings > Mentions transparence) to customize the text, icon, text color and background color of each badge, where they are displayed, and which content types they apply to:
- Just above the content (default)
- Above the post title
- No automatic display (shortcode [kytm_badges] only)
- Optionally, also on pages (posts only by default)
-
A [kytm_badges] shortcode (with an optional id= »123″ parameter) to display badges manually elsewhere if needed (theme, page builder, etc.), plus a matching « Transparency Badges » block for the block editor.
-
A [kytm_legend] shortcode to display a legend explaining what each mention means — handy in a footer or on a dedicated « About / Transparency » page. Each mention’s explanatory text is customizable per language, alongside its label.
-
A language setting for badges (Settings > Mentions transparence > Language):
- Automatic: badges display in English if the WordPress site is set to English (Settings > General > Site Language), and in French otherwise.
- Always in French.
- Always in English.
Each badge type has its own French and English text, customizable independently.
-
Bulk editing: select several posts (or pages) from the list screen, then use the Bulk actions dropdown to add a given mention to all of them at once, without opening each post individually. Existing mentions on each post are kept.

FAQ
-
Can I check several mentions on the same post?
-
Yes, as many as needed (for example « Press copy » + « Paid partnership »).
-
Does the badge show on pages, or only on posts?
-
By default, only on posts. Tick « Afficher aussi sur les pages » in Settings > Mentions transparence to also enable it on pages. For other content types (custom post types), use the
kytm_post_typesfilter. -
Can I change the colors and text?
-
Yes, directly from Settings > Mentions transparence, with a color picker.
-
When should I use the « AI use » mention?
-
Whenever AI was used to help produce the post: writing, translation, proofreading, idea generation, etc.
-
When should I use the « Reprint » mention?
-
When the post reprints, word for word or nearly so, content published elsewhere (press release, source article…), whether or not AI was involved. Combine it with « AI use » if AI helped produce the reprint.
-
When should I use the « Affiliate links » mention?
-
Whenever the post contains one or more affiliate links (Amazon Associates or similar), i.e. links that earn a commission if a reader makes a purchase through them.
-
Is there a block for the block editor (Gutenberg)?
-
Yes. Search for « Transparency Badges » in the block inserter and add it anywhere in a post — it shows a live preview of the same badges the shortcode would display, no need to type [kytm_badges] by hand.
-
How do I explain what the badges mean to my readers?
-
Use the [kytm_legend] shortcode in your footer, sidebar, or on an « About / Transparency » page. It lists every mention type with its icon and a short explanation, customizable from Settings > Mentions transparence (one text field per language, under each badge).
-
Can I add a mention to several posts at once?
-
Yes. On the Posts (or Pages) list screen, select the posts with the checkboxes, choose the matching « Mention transparence : + … » entry from the Bulk actions dropdown, then click Apply. It adds that mention to every selected post without removing any mention already set on them.
