FAQ

Will this Plugin work on my WordPress.com website?

Sorry, this plugin is available for use only on self-hosted (WordPress.org) websites.

My Custom CSS isn’t showing up

There are several reasons this could be happening:

  • Your CSS is targeting the wrong selector.

  • Your CSS selectors aren’t specific enough.

Par exemple, vous pourriez avoir :

a {
    color: #f00;
}

When you need:

#content a {
    color: #f00;
}

The specificity you need depends upon the CSS rules you are attempting to override.

  • Votre CSS n’est pas valide.

Veuillez vérifier votre CSS en utilisant le service de validation de CSS du W3C.

Avis

Great plugin! Some Recommended Features

Overall this is a great plugin. I have used it with several websites without any difficulty. A few features I recommend that would give this plugin a 5 star rating for me. Make the « Update Custom CSS » button float so you don’t have to scroll all the way back to the top to update your CSS when you have many line of code. Also, it would be nice if once your CSS was updated, you would stay at the line of code you were working on. It becomes a little annoying when making multiple changes to the same CSS element to have to scroll back down to it after you have updated the CSS. Those two recommendations would save a lot of time and time is money for developers.

Instead of using print_scripts to insert the CSS directly into the HEAD, CSS styles are generated within simple-custom-css.php (the sole file for this plugin), then added via wp_enqueue_scripts, so now it will appear in the HEAD as:

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://yoursite.com/?sccss=1" />

…even though no css file is actually generated. Please see the comments within the Plugin file for more detailed information.
